Common pitfall of social media in this industry:

Not all the top notch players are equally active in social media in this industry. Many top level players as well as startups continue their journey with lots of common pitfalls. Hope we will share those case studies in the near future. One of the most common pitfalls of social media marketing in the fintech industry is creating quality content. Unlike other industries, creating a content plan and executing it is not enough.

Fintech companies need to create engaging and relevant content that resonates with their target audience. This can be challenging as the content needs to be informative and educational, rather than entertaining or fun. Fintech companies need to focus on creating content that drives engagement and growth, which can be difficult to achieve.

Other common pitfalls of social media marketing in the fintech industry include lack of connection across departments, identifying the right platform, understanding the target audience, declining organic engagement, and meeting consumer expectations

Which social media platform should fintech startups focus first:

LinkedIn and Instagram are the two most popular social media platforms for fintech companies. According to historic data, most fintech brands are active on LinkedIn and Instagram. Almost all of the fintech brands are present on LinkedIn.

While those who are working in cryptocurrency, DeFi, NFT related fields are heavily present on x.com.

Fintech-based startups have 10x followers on LinkedIn in comparison to Facebook or Instagram.

LinkedIn is a professional networking platform that allows fintech companies to connect with other businesses and professionals in the industry. It is an ideal platform for B2B marketing and building brand awareness among industry professionals.

Fintech companies can use LinkedIn to share industry insights, thought leadership content, and engage with their target audience.

Instagram, on the other hand, is a visual platform that allows fintech companies to showcase their products and services through images and videos. It is an ideal platform for B2C marketing and building brand awareness among younger audiences.

For targeting generation Z fintech firms need to active tik-tok also.

If you are a newcomer in this race, you must take LinkedIn very seriously as it is the most popular social media platform for fintech companies. However, if you want to attract the new generation to your service, Instagram might be the second option for you. My suggestion start work with those two than gradually present all other platforms

challenges that fintech companies face in social media marketing:

Fintech startups are very much focused on building and development of quality product and services less focused on marketing and least focus on social media presence.

Fintech Social Media Marketing Common issues.
  1. Lack of quality content: Quality content is king for any industry. I see a common problem in the fintech industry social media is lack of quality content. Only flashy designs can not attract the right clients to you.
  2. Consistency: This is another major issue. I  see thousands of fintech brands that have not posted any content for the last months. If you don’t post any content for a long time, Instagram, linkedin, facebook, and x’s algorithm will act against you.
  3. Building a team for social media: Social media marketing requires a dedicated team that is responsible for creating and executing social media strategies. However, many fintech companies struggle to build a team with the necessary skills and expertise .
  4. Measuring ROI and KPI: Measuring the ROI and KPI of social media marketing can be difficult, especially when it comes to B2B marketing. Fintech companies need to identify the right metrics to track and measure the success of their social media campaigns .
  5. Finding the right agency: Many fintech companies outsource their social media marketing to agencies. However, finding the right agency can be a challenge, as not all agencies have experience in the fintech industry .

It’s important for fintech companies to be aware of these challenges and take steps to address them in their social media marketing strategies.

Here are some ways to solve the challenges that fintech companies face in social media marketing:

Fintech SMM Solutions
  1. A content calendar and stick to it: Anyone can build a content calendar but to be consistent on it is an issue. You need to find out the best content idea for your social media journey. Make a long 365 days content calendar that will make you an authority in this section. Be patient and be consistent on your plan.
  2. Reverse engineering in goal setting: Do not set your goal based on your expectation. Set goals based on your labor. Your content calendar is your goal if you plan for posting 365 content on each social media this might be your goal. Your goal must not be achieving 1m followers on instagram.
  3. Building a team for social media: Fintech companies can build a team for social media by hiring professionals with the necessary skills and expertise. They can also train their existing employees to develop social media skills. Alternatively, they can outsource their social media marketing to agencies that specialize in the fintech industry.
  4. Finding the right agency: Fintech companies can find the right agency by conducting research, reading reviews, and asking for referrals. They should look for agencies that have experience in the fintech industry and a proven track record of success.
